“Aviation Tales – The book”

How did this ‘adventure’ happen?

From being a volunteer radio presenter to a published author. It is quite a “Tale”

Sometime during Mid 2024, the radio station underwent quite a major re-organisation, and I took the opportunity to concentrate on my ‘dream’ of becoming a published author.

To keep me on ‘track’ during my broadcasting days, I was in the habit of keeping notes to assist me in keeping ‘on track’, so to speak. Little did I know then that the notes I saved would become: “Aviation Tales” So, I have been much encouraged and happily working my way towards a Volume 2 of

“Aviation Tales” Follow your dreams, you just never know

Foreword

Around the time of my coming to live on the Kapiti Coast of New Zealand, I was a regular customer of the hardware store.

I was approached during one of my visits there by a staff lady who said:
“You are always talking about aeroplanes and my husband would like to meet you, he is involved with the local radio station.”

Thus began a connection with “Coast Access Radio” and my radio show ‘Aviation Past and Present’ was soon underway and to aid my introduction to broadcasting, I got into the habit of writing a ‘script’ to keep me on-track for the duration of the recording. All good things have a habit of coming to an end and after several years ‘behind the microphone’ I called it a day. The ‘scripts’ however survived and from time to time I would revisit them as they were quite personal to me.

An idea was born. Could this collection of my ‘historical’ musings become the basis of a book? (or two)

Today I would like to introduce to you my recent book “Aviation Tales” and I hope that you will enjoy the read and perhaps become encouraged to go down the same path.
